tysMedia's lead, Marian Dozier, has been telling stories for more than 25 years as a newspaper reporter and editor, legislative aide and freelance content provider. The bulk of her career has been spent researching, interviewing, writing and editing at some of America's best-known daily newspapers, including the Detroit Free Press, the Milwaukee Journal, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. She's used those same skills as a freelancer, producing newsletters, annual reports and hundreds of press releases, as well as editing books and magazines and postings on social media. Over the years, she has added event planning to her repertoire, using the same detail-driven and deadline-focused sensibility she learned in the news business.
Marian has also worked in the political realm for nearly a decade, including as legislative aide to a City Council, legislative assistant to a State Senator and content provider on several political campaigns. She also co-hosts a weekly radio show called 'South Florida Sunday' in West Palm Beach, acts as a national correspondent on 'Detroit in Black & White,' a Motor City talk show, and has done two episodes of 'For My Man' on TV One, a national cable channel. Her biggest current undertaking: cocowire.net, a website that provides hyperlocal news, events and useful information to communities of color primarily in Palm Beach County. As she often says, she does whatever it takes to tell your story.
